This past week, State Senator John Jasinski (District 24) and State Rep John Petersburg (District 24a) visited TraLo to review Minnesota Trucking Association (MTA) legislative priorities with TraLo employees and John Hausladen, President of the MTA.

We were thrilled to give the representatives a tour of our facility and equipment, take a ride, and discuss MTA priorities.

2020 has been a turbulent year for many industries, and the Trucking Association is working hard to continue moving the industry forward.

The MTA identified a few interim legislative priorities:

  • Address the lingering impacts of COVID-19 on the Trucking Industry, including the affects of COVID-19 protocols, driver shortages, and freight volume changes
  • Oppose state mandates which would increase barriers and costs to business operations
  • Reduce liability exposure for trucking fleets, and expand protection from new liability exposure created by COVID-19
  • Retain General Fund Dollars dedicated to transportation funding

We’re continuing to work with local legislators and the Minnesota Trucking Association to improve the industry in any way possible, and hope the recent visit is a step towards improving conditions for truckers across Minnesota.
